First descent
Score 30
Rune Depths is a turn-based dungeon roguelike where magic is assembled from runes. The meaning of every symbol changes with each run, and there is no ready reference: you test guesses in play, combine runes into spells and slowly work out what each one does. A wrong guess can end in an explosion, a fire or something worse.
The dungeon follows its own rules. Fire spreads through grass and keeps running, spiders pin you down with webs, slimes split in two and trolls heal their wounds. You can turn the surroundings against your enemies: push them into lava, drop them into a chasm or let them fight each other. Every descent gets its own generated title and quest, and the game is played on a keyboard, with an on-screen pad on phones.
